Power Inductor Optimization Using Non-linear Magnetization Characteristics
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The inductor design plays a significant role within the power converter design as it is a major contributor to the overall size, weight, and power loss of the system. Optimal design of an inductor through iterative approaches can prove to be challenging because of the parameter inter-dependence. This paper discusses the design of power inductors through the use of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) including the non-linear magnetization characteristics of the core material. The inductor design is suitable for high power electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle applications. The optimization evaluates iron powder cores and ferrite cores for operation in a bi-directional boost converter rated at 60 kW. The evaluation show the potential benefit of non-linear designs by considering various frequencies and number of interleaved phases.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
