Prevalência de barreiras para a prática de atividade física no tempo livre em pacientes com hipertensão arterial

Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar as barreiras e o estágio de mudança de comportamento para a prática de atividade física no tempo livre em uma amostra de pacientes com hipertensão arterial. Estudo transversal realizado com 55 pacientes (69,1% de mulheres, idade entre 31-89 anos) que frequentavam o Modelo de Atenção as Condições Crônicas de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde de Guarapuava, Paraná. As barreiras para prática de atividades físicas foram determinadas por instrumento padronizado e validado. Dezenove barreiras foram classificadas em “barreira percebida” (sempre e quase sempre) e “barreira não-percebida” (às vezes, raramente e nunca). As barreiras foram categorizadas nas dimensões ambientais, sociais, fisiológicas/físicas e psicológicas/comportamentais. Os estágios de prontidão foram usados para classificar os pacientes em “ativos” (estágios ação e manutenção) e “não ativos” (estágios pré-contemplação, contemplação e preparação). A frequência (%) de barreiras percebidas foi associada à prontidão para prática de atividades físicas por meio do teste Qui-quadrado e Exato de Fisher. As três barreiras mais prevalentes foram: “falta de energia ou cansaço” (54,5%), “falta de clima adequado” (47,3%) e “limitações físicas” (42,6%). Foram identificadas 10 barreiras mais frequentes em pacientes não ativos comparados aos ativos, sendo quatro fisiológicas/físicas, três psicológicas/comportamentais, duas ambientais e uma social. Pacientes obesos apresentaram maior quantidade de barreiras fisiológicas/físicas que os não-obesos. Considerando os fatores limitantes na incorporação de uma vida mais ativa em pacientes hipertensos, o presente estudo pode auxiliar a estabelecer estratégias específicas no contexto da atenção básica.
