Por primera vez se publica en español este libro de Pascal Brissette, profesor e investigador canadiense, director del Departamento de Lengua y Literatura Francesa de la Universidad de McGill.La traducción estuvo a cargo del profesor, investigador y traductor colombianoJuan Zapata, quien desde hace 12 años reside en Francia.Zapata ha realizado un admirable trabajo de traducción para editoriales colombianas de obras originalmente escritas en francés. Gracias a su gestión y al interés de las editoriales colombianas en publicar este tipo de trabajos, en los últimos cinco años se han publicado cincolibros invaluables para la renovación de los estudios literarios en Colombia:La institución de la literatura, de Jacques Dubois (Universidad de Antioquia, 2014), La invención del autor(Universidad de Antioquia, 2015), Posturas literarias, de Jérôme Meizoz (Universidad de los Andes, 2015), Baudelaire. De la bohemia a la modernidad literaria(Filomena Edita-Corporación Babilonia, 2017) y este de Brissette.
