Persuadindo e ensinando Neoptólemo: a retórica de Odisseu no prólogo do Filoctetes de Sófocles

Abstract
A proposta do artigo é discutir a retórica de Odisseu no prólogo da tragédia Filoctetes de Sófocles. Parte-se então da centralidade de Neoptólemo para demonstrar como a persuasão da personagem se constitui como objetivo da retórica de Odisseu. O texto divide-se em duas partes: na primeira, “A métis de Odisseu: caminhos da operacionalidade retórica”, discute como a métis é o cerne organizador do discurso de Odisseu e como ele emprega uma tática persuasória mediada por ela. A segunda, “Persuadindo e ensinando Neoptólemo”, analisa os argumentos de Odisseu e como ele apresenta o poder das palavras em oposição ao uso da força, fazendo Neoptólemo descobrir a retórica como uma importante ferramenta do jogo político que conduz as ações dos homens. O artigo concentra a análise no prólogo da peça para realçar o papel de educador sofista de Odisseu, ligado ao ensinamento das artes de convencimento.
