Abstract

Le présent article rend compte des rapports de pouvoir à l'œuvre lors du processus de consécration littéraire des auteurs algériens de langue française Kateb Yacine (1929-1989) et Kamel Daoud (1970-), en France. À partir d'un corpus d'étude constitué d'entretiens semi-directifs, de discours littéraires et méta-littéraires et d'une documentation de nature variée, nous montrons que les rapports de pouvoir, signes d'une consécration « en demi-teinte », procèdent de l'organisation inégalitaire du champ des lettres françaises au sein duquel l'origine nationale agit comme opérateur hiérarchique. Cette démarche, sensible à la nationalisation de la normativité littéraire, permet dès lors d'éclairer les modalités de formation de la croyance en la valeur littéraire en situation postcoloniale ainsi que les usages stratégiques des œuvres en dehors de leur champ de production originel.
