Nationales ou internationales, limitées aux seuls produits manufacturés de l’industrie comme c’est systématiquement le cas avant 1850 ou universelles dès lors qu’elles élargissent l’éventail des objets exposés aux travaux de l’esprit et aux beaux-arts, présentées à Paris, en province ou à l’étranger, les expositions ont suscité un véritable engouement...
