Abstract
Cet article se propose d’étudier de quelles manières les réalisations de la cinéaste Sophie Goyette s’inscrivent dans le cinéma contemporain des femmes au Québec, et comment elles en redéfinissent certains contours en privilégiant le motif de « l’entre-deux » pour parler de construction identitaire et d’affranchissement de soi. À travers l’analyse de Mes nuits feront écho (2016) et des courts-métrages de Goyette (La Ronde, Le Futur proche, Manèges), il est possible de constater qu’une poésie du « contournement » ressort de façon singulière, autant au point de vue du traitement narratif (lié aux questions de deuil, d’onirisme, de traversée intérieure) que des choix formels et esthétiques de la cinéaste. Cet article prend aussi le parti d’explorer, à travers l’exemple de Sophie Goyette, l’importance de la liberté créatrice entre réalisatrices et actrices. À plus large échelle, il met l’accent sur l’importance de mieux considérer la spécificité des sensibilités féminines des cinéastes québécoises à travers les différentes formes de subjectivité qu’elles travaillent, afin de continuer à déconstruire collectivement l’idée du « film de femme » et les présupposés qui l’accompagnent.
