Abstract
El 26 de febrero de 2019, el Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea dictó sentencia en los asuntos acumulados C-202/18 y C-238/18 Rim??vi?s para anular un acto de la República de Letonia consistente en impedir provisionalmente a un gobernador del banco central letón desempeñar efectivamente su cargo, en el contexto de una investigación penal por corrupción. El presente comentario tiene por objeto referir los antecedentes relevantes de la disputa, ofrecer un detalle de la decisión en consideración de la argumentación del Tribunal y del Abogado General en sus Conclusiones y realizar una reflexión sobre las consecuencias que esta sentencia tiene para el ordenamiento jurídico de la Unión.
