À travers l’étude des talk-shows au sein de l’Égypte prérévolutionnaire, et dans le contexte de la naissance des médias télévisuels, l’auteure s’interroge sur la manière dont ces émissions ont marqué cet espace public. Elle questionne ensuite le sort de ce phénomène télévisuel, dans un contexte de restauration autoritaire. Pour analyser ces dynamiques, l’auteure suit le parcours de plusieurs émissions, se basant principalement sur une série d’entretiens menés auprès de professionnels de ces émissions et des acteurs des sphères politique et sociale.
