Abstract
Background: Melatonin is a hormone, which is shown to exert various considerable cardioprotective and antioxidant properties, and considering the involvement of oxidative stress factors in various types of cardiac arrhythmia, in the present experiment, we investigated the possible involvement of oxidative stress factors in antiarrhythmic effects of melatonin in ouabain-induced arrhythmia in isolated rat atria.
