espanolLos cultivos asociados representan una alternativa para hacer un uso eficiente de los recursos e incrementar los rendimientos por unidad de area y tiempo. Con el objetivo de evaluar el comportamiento del rubro yuca como monocultivo y su asociacion con maiz y topocho bajo las condiciones agroecologicas de la hacienda Alto Viento 10o02” N y 71o34” O en el municipio La Canada, estado Zulia, Venezuela. Los tratamientos fueron, monocultivos: yuca (T1); maiz (T2); topocho (T3) y las asociaciones de cultivos: yuca-maiz (T4) y yuca-maiz-topocho (T5). Las variables evaluadas fueron: rendimiento y los indices de eficiencia uso equivalente de la tierra (UET) y relacion de equivalencia de area y tiempo (REAT). El rendimiento en raices de yuca bajo monocultivo fue significativamente superior a su rendimiento bajo las asociaciones y se mantuvo constante en las asociaciones. Este comportamiento se repitio en los cultivos de maiz y topocho. El sistema de policultivo yuca-maiz registro un UET de 1,64; mientras que en la asociacion yuca-maiz-topocho se obtuvo un UET de 2,54, con un rendimiento de 154 %. El REAT fue 0,97 para la asociacion yuca-maiz y 1,88 en yuca-maiz-topocho. Se concluye que el cultivo de la yuca se podria establecer como monocultivo o asociado con los cultivos maiz y/o topocho como alternativa agricola para hacer un uso eficiente de recursos. Se recomienda seguir realizando investigaciones sobre la evaluacion del comportamiento de cultivos y sus distintas asociaciones. EnglishAssociated crops represent an alternative to make efficient use of resources and increase yields per unit area and time. With the objective of evaluating the behavior of the yucca sector as monoculture and its association with corn and topocho under the agro-ecological conditions of the Alto Viento 10o02” N and 71o34” W hacienda in the municipality of La Canada, Zulia state, Venezuela. The treatments were monoculture: cassava (T1); corn (T2); topocho (T3) and crop associations: cassava-corn (T4) and cassava-corn-topocho (T5). The variables evaluated were: yield and the land use equivalent efficiency indexes (UET) and area-time equivalence ratio (REAT). The yield in cassava roots under monoculture was significantly superior to its yield under the associations and remained constant in the associations. This behavior was repeated in corn and topocho crops. The cassava-corn polyculture system registered a UET of 1.64; while in the cassava-corn-topocho association, a UET of 2.54 was obtained, with a yield of 154 %. The REAT was 0.97 for the cassava-maize association and 1.88 for cassava-maize-topocho. It is concluded that cassava cultivation could be established as a monoculture or associated with corn and / or topocho crops as an agricultural alternative to make efficient use of resources. O rendimento em raizes de mandioca sob monocultura foi significativamente superior ao seu desempenho nas associacoes e permaneceu constante nas associacoes. Esse comportamento foi repetido nas culturas de milho e topocho. O sistema de policultura de mandioca e milho registrou uma UET de 1,64; enquanto na associacao mandioca-milho-topocho, obteve-se UET de 2,54, com rendimento de 154 %. O REAT foi de 0,97 para a associacao mandioca-milho e 1,88 para mandioca-milho-topocho. Conclui-se que o cultivo da mandioca pode ser estabelecido como monocultura ou associado a culturas de milho e / ou topocho como alternativa agricola para fazer uso eficiente dos recursos. Recomenda-se continuar a realizar pesquisas sobre a avaliacao do comportamento das culturas e suas diferentes associacoes.
