Eleanor-Rigby est journaliste au magazine National Geographic, elle vit a Londres. Un matin, en rentrant de voyage, elle recoit une lettre anonyme lui apprenant que sa mere a eu un passe criminel. George-Harrison est ebeniste, il vit dans les Cantons-de-l'Est au Quebec. Un matin, il recoit une lettre anonyme accusant sa mere des memes faits. Eleanor-Rigby et George-Harrison ne se connaissent pas. L'auteur des lettres leur donne a chacun rendez-vous dans un bar de pecheurs sur le port de Baltimore. Quel est le lien qui les unit ?
