Abstract
The 75th anniversary of the United Nations is an important event for Canada. This country was one of the founders of the UN, and then played a vigorous role in its activities. The article looks at both the successes and failures of Canadian diplomacy in the UN, and examines factors influencing the political course of Ottawa. Special attention is paid to recent events – the loss of Canada at the elections of non-permanent members of the UNSC in 2020.
