Abstract

Este artigo busca abordar questões contemporâneas da sociedade Mẽbêngokre-Kayapó a partir do estudo referente aos vestidos utilizados pelas mulheres deste povo, chamados de kubẽ-kà kumrenx e fabricados na maioria das cidades próximas às aldeias. Este objeto abrirá espaço para reflexões sobre as pontes construídas e tensionadas pelas mulheres mẽbêngôkre entre seus mundos e o dos brancos em uma perspectiva sobre a manipulação de substâncias materiais e imateriais como estratégias, estéticas e políticas de construção de seus corpos. Em um primeiro momento, apresento o campo sobre a Casa de Costura em Kaprãnkrere, T.I. Las Casas, e sua idealizadora Tuíre Kayapó. Na segunda parte, relato histórias contadas sobre a origem destas vestimentas no Território Menkragnoti em busca de conectar as intenções de uso com o fenômeno da difusão desta moda em todos os Territórios Kayapó.
