Abstract
O trabalho será embasado em uma teoria de Callista Roy e aplicabilidade do processo de enfermagem com subsídio na Escala de Edmonton/Edmonton Symptom Assesment System (ESAS). Essa teoria de adaptação está sob supervisão do profissional enfermeiro, que se suprirá de informações significativas a respeito do paciente e requer dedicação e habilidade de forma que suas ações influenciem de maneira eficaz a adaptação do indivíduo. Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar os diagnósticos de enfermagem ao paciente oncológico relacionado à Escala de Edmonton aplicando a teoria de adaptação. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica descritiva com abordagem qualitativa. Para isso, foram utilizados artigos publicados em revistas científicas, livros e manuais práticos pertinentes com o assunto. Observou-se que pacientes com câncer terminal se apresentam de forma expressiva nos últimos anos, com isso, houve a necessidade do profissional de enfermagem aperfeiçoar seus conhecimentos, habilidades e técnicas, devido a assistência continua prestada.
