Abstract
Cet article propose d’observer plus en détail le rôle des mécaniques et du design de jeu sur les représentations possibles de la Première Guerre mondiale dans les jeux vidéo. Les deux genres vidéoludiques dans lesquels s’inscrivent les jeux Soldats Inconnus : Mémoires de la Grande Guerre (jeu d’aventure de type résolutions d’énigmes) et Battlefield 1 (jeu de tir à la première personne) sont ainsi décortiquées dans le but de faire ressortir les stratégies ludo-narratives employées pour intégrer des éléments historiques dans l’espace de jeu. Ce travail d’analyse donne ainsi l’occasion d’étudier la manière dont ces jeux proposent deux représentations distinctes d’un même évènement à travers les composantes de la jouabilité et des éléments de l’univers fictionnel.
