Abstract
Écrivain singulier, Paul Nougé compose une oeuvre s’étendant sur deux paliers : d’une part, sa création poétique, de l’autre, une importante oeuvre théorique. Il s’y ingénie, par un subtil travail de déconstruction et de décalage, à exprimer les différences qui le séparent de ses confrères surréalistes français, à réaliser des « objets bouleversants », à « défendre » les images d’un grand ami (René Magritte), à réfléchir sur la création poétique de ses contemporains, sur l’art de son temps et sur sa propre création. Cette constante démarche est quasiment sans égale et dit bien ce que peut induire un rapport au réel et à la langue dans un pays où l’Histoire comme la langue paraissent être faites d’abord par les possesseurs français de la norme.
