Abstract
L’auteure met en question la construction du métarécit national dans les médias d’information français. Elle montre que les processus d’ethnicisation à l’oeuvre produisent l’intelligibilité de la race, du genre et de la classe, d’une part, et qu’ils légitiment le pouvoir des groupes majoritaires, d’autre part. En effet, le métarécit sur la francité associe les groupes majoritaires à une ethnicité qui les présente en haut de l’échelle de la moralité républicaine, tandis que les groupes minoritaires sont dépeints comme responsables des inégalités.
