Abstract
Cet article explore la présence de l’irréel, à travers la figure de l’arbre, dans la poésie, la narration et les essais de botanique de Marie Gevers. Nous mettrons en évidence des ressorts de l’écriture de Gevers qui contribuent à une perception merveilleuse de cet élément du paysage de Missembourg. D’autre part, nous verrons comment l’arbre, dans sa structure spatiale et temporelle, participe de la fascination de l’auteure pour les rêves. L’étude des textes de Marie Gevers s’appuie sur la lecture de sa correspondance avec Franz Hellens et souligne les liens qui l’unissent au réalisme magique européen.
