Abstract
A Piometra e um processo inflamatorio do utero, caracterizado pelo acumulo de secrecao purulenta na luz do utero, proveniente de uma hiperplasia endometrial cistica (HEC) devido ao acumulo de liquido, associado a uma infeccao bacteriana. E uma infeccao muito comum em cadelas adultas e de meia idade. Seu diagnostico e baseado em exames clinicos, laboratoriais e de imagem, tendo o ultrassom como uma ferramenta muito importante para se fechar o diagnostico. A realizacao deste trabalho teve como objetivo descrever um relato de caso, abordando o tema Hiperplasia endometrial Cistica-Piometra. Durante o estagio foi atendida uma cadela, da raca labrador com aproximadamente seis anos de idade. Esse animal apresentava sinais clinicos que sao sugestivos de piometra. A piometra e uma patologia comum na rotina da clinica de pequenos animais, especialmente em cadelas, e seu diagnostico precoce contribuem para um tratamento mais efetivo e um melhor prognostico.
