Abstract
Pour le nouvel arrivant, la dynamique sociale d’une communauté d’accueil francophone en milieu minoritaire fait montre d’une conjonction d’identités qui sont liées à son quotidien. Cette conjonction laisse entrevoir un attachement culturel relativement fort du nouvel arrivant. Cet attachement est mis à l’épreuve des exigences adaptatives du milieu migratoire. Les interactions sociales aux niveaux intra-culturel et interculturel tendent à ouvrir sur des processus de détribalisation en général et, plus particulièrement, sur une inversion des rôles traditionnels entre le mari et la femme. Par conséquent, une éventuelle intervention de spécialiste en travail social dans le cadre familial du nouvel arrivant s’impose, non sans difficulté. En s’appuyant sur les données de notre étude Inclusion de nouveaux arrivants en milieu scolaire franco-manitobain, cette analyse s’attache à mettre en relief des contours de nouveaux défis familiaux en contexte francophone minoritaire au Canada. Principalement à travers des entrevues semi-dirigées, nous avons constaté une mutation des rôles entre mari et femme, qui nécessite de nouvelles pratiques en intervention sociale auprès de la famille en contexte immigrant.
