Computational investigation of preshock desensitization of liquid nitromethane with air-filled cavities
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In order to determine the dominant mechanism underlying the effect of preshock desensitization in heterogeneous explosives, two-dimensional, meso-resolved simulations are performed to capture the dynamics of double-shock initiation in mixtures of liquid nitromethane with air-filled cavities. Without invoking any phenomenological reaction models to account for the meso-scale effects, temperature-dependent Arrhenius chemical kinetics and a statistically significant amount of heterogeneities are explicitly considered in these simulations. The desensitizing effect is captured in the simulations considering double-shock scenarios with various delay times between the two shocks. Single-shock scenarios with a post-shock state that is isentropic or isothermal to the double-shocked state are also simulated. For the selected set of parameters, the results suggest that a smaller increase in temperature behind double shocks is likely the dominant mechanism underlying the effect of preshock desensitization.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
