Abstract
El periodismo literario en el último cuarto del siglo XIX ha sido un tema privilegiado por los estudios literarios latinoamericanos en décadas recientes. La atención prestada a la prensa visibilizó nuevas zonas de investigación, permitió el rescate y exhumación de periódicos y revistas de fin-de-siglo y modificó las perspectivas de estudio. En este artículo, reviso algunos antecedentes críticos y propongo nuevas hipótesis sobre las reglas de formación de la crónica modernista como una serie heterogénea y discontinua. Para ello, tendré en cuenta la articulación entre búsqueda formal —prosa artística y fragmentación—, dispersión temática, ontexto discursivo de la prensa y formas d eproducción de la noticia, así como su valoración en la encricijada entre literatura y periodismo.
