Abstract
Abstract. We study soliton solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) with a saturated nonlinearity. NLS with such a nonlinearity is known to possess a minimal mass soliton. We consider a small perturbation of a minimal mass soliton and identify a system of ODEs extending the work of [20], which models the behavior of the perturbation for short times. We then provide numerical evidence that under this system of ODEs there are two possible dynamical outcomes, in accord with the conclusions of [43]. Generically, initial data which supports a soliton structure appears to oscillate, with oscillations centered on a stable soliton. For initial data which is expected to disperse, the finite dimensional dynamics initially follow the unstable portion of the soliton curve. 1.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from it
