En mars 2019, les Roms vivant en France ont subi une série d’attaques violentes faisant suite à la diffusion sur les réseaux sociaux de rumeurs nauséabondes. Dans cet article nous revenons sur les fondements historiques de l’antitsiganisme et sur la conjoncture politique de la décennie 2010 qui a vu ce racisme revigoré par la parole et l’action politique. Dans la dernière partie nous montrons que la violence est la conséquence sociale d’une construction politique.
