Abstract
Esta edicion critica de un poema epico italiano de mediados del siglo XVI que trata como protagonistas al Gran Capitan y a Cristobal Colon pone de manifiesto la percepcion que se tuvo en la Italia del Renacimiento del surgimiento de Espana como superpotencia. Ademas de editar este poema inedito y de traducirlo al espanol, el autor identifica sus fuentes, en particular los Elogia virorum illustrium y la Vida del Gran Capitan, ambas obras de Paolo Giovio, en las que se confirma esa percepcion de Espana. Es de subrayar la fecha temprana de este poema epico, el primero en lengua romance sobre Cristobal Colon.
