Abstract
Cette communication se propose de présenter diverses modalités de lecture de deux pièces canoniques du répertoire théâtral, mais aussi des programmes scolaires français, L’Avare de Molière (souvent étudié au collège) et Ruy Blas de Victor Hugo (plutôt au lycée) par le truchement de deux adaptations du plasticien J.-P. Lihou en bande dessinée. Au-delà de l’étude conjointe de ces oeuvres littéraires et de leur transposition en bande dessinée permettant de comparer les modes d’expression respectifs de ces deux formes artistiques et les spécificités de chaque système narratif, je me demanderai si la bande dessinée à elle seule ne constitue pas une oeuvre « spectaculaire » à part entière, texte et représentation étant doublement assumés par le dessin et la mise en page.
