Este artigo objetiva apresentar a sistematização do desenvolvimento da pesquisa “O ensino de sociologia nas escolas públicas estaduais de ensino médio de um município do interior de São Paulo”, na qual foi traçado o perfil sociocultural, educacional e profissional de professores (as) de sociologia de escolas do ensino médio. Além disso, foram coletadas, a partir de conversas individuais com os (as) docentes, as representações acerca de suas práticas de ensino dessa disciplina, em suas metodologias e recursos didático-pedagógicos, potencialidades e limites.
