Abstract
Dans un contexte de changement climatique global, la France s’est engagée dans la mise au point d’une méthode de mesure des émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES), et notamment de N20 agricole. Dans un contexte de changement climatique global, la France s’est engagée dans la mise au point d’une méthode de mesure des émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES), et notamment de N20 agricole. Il s’agit d’une méthode qualifiée de niveau 2 par le GIEC. Cette méthode a été conçue par l’INRA en partenariat avec des centres techniques spécialistes des grandes cultures. La centralisation et l’enrichissement de bases de données hétérogènes a été un élément important de la situation productive. La méthode ainsi produite a été mobilisée par le CITEPA pour la réalisation de ses inventaires de GES. Ainsi, le système français d’inventaire des émissions de gaz à effet de serre gagne en robustesse et en crédibilité et rejoint le Canada dans le club des pays capables d’appliquer une méthodologie de niveau 2. L’application de cette méthode plus précise de calcul pourrait réduire le poids de l’agriculture dans le « budget » total d’émissions français. Elle pourrait, par ailleurs, fournir un cadre incitatif pour des leviers d’action visant la réduction des émissions de N2O, que la méthodologie précédente ne permettait pas de prendre en compte.
