Fondée en 2018 et localisée à Marseille, la maison d’édition Hors d’atteinte, créée par Ingrid Balazard et Marie Hermann, a déjà une identité et une ligne éditoriale très fortes. Le Musée national de l’histoire de l’immigration a suivi attentivement la naissance de cette jeune structure et le développement de son catalogue. Le premier titre publié, Rue des pâquerettes de Mehdi Charef, premier tome d’une trilogie revenant sur l’enfance et la jeunesse de son auteur, dans les années 1960-1970, dans le bidonville de Nanterre, en cité de transit, puis en HLM, a été récompensé en juin 2020 par le Prix littéraire de la Porte Dorée. Marie Hermann, éditrice de 37 ans au parcours personnel déjà riche – en tant que responsable du domaine français au sein de deux maisons d’édition allemandes, puis directrice éditoriale chez Agone entre 2013 et 2017 –, revient dans cet entretien sur l’aventure de Hors d’atteinte depuis 2018.
