Abstract
Avec l’avènement de la nouvelle économie fondée sur la connaissance et le capital social, de plus en plus d’organisations misent sur les communautés de pratique (CdP) comme lieux d’apprentissage pouvant amener les membres vers un accroissement de leurs capacités. Notre recherche visait donc à comprendre le fonctionnement des communautés de pratique comme nouvelles modalités d’apprentissage en contexte universitaire. Nous avons procédé à une analyse comparée de deux communautés de pratique dont l’origine de création et la motivation sont très différentes. Voulant mieux comprendre ce nouveau mode d’apprentissage par CdP, nous avons observé nombre de bénéfices. Toutefois, le potentiel d’apprentissage paraît ici limité, notamment en raison des défis rencontrés en ce qui concerne particulièrement l’organisation interne des groupes, le manque de temps et de ressources, imputable notamment à l’absence de valorisation des communautés de pratique par les supérieurs et l’université.
