Non Directional Beacon (NDB) adalah fasilitas navigasi penerbangan yang bekerja dengan menggunakan frekuensi rendah (low frequency) dan dipasang pada suatu lokasi tertentu di dalam atau di luar lingkungan bandar udara. NDB memancarkan informasi dalam bentuk sinyal gelombang radio ke segala arah melalui antena, sinyalnya akan diterima oleh pesawat udara yang dilengkapi Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) yaitu perangkat penerima NDB yang ada di pesawat udara, sehingga penerbang dapat mengetahui posisinya (azimuth) relatif terhadap lokasi NDB tersebut. Di Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya khususnya di Laboratorium Navigasi terdapat sebuah Non Directional Beacon (NDB) dengan tipe LWX 100 A buatan SPILSBURY COMMUNICATION asal Canada dengan daya pancar 100 Watt. LWX 100 A memiliki beberapa kelebihan yaitu rangkaiannya yang sederhana dan portable. Selain kelebihan, LWX 100 A juga memiliki beberapa kekurangan yaitu tampilan parameter yang sederhana dan tidak lengkap. Rancangan ini dibuat dengan tujuan sebagai tampilan untuk mempermudah pengguna dalam monitoring NDB LWX 100 A melalui website, dan memberi informasi parameter (tegangan dc, frekuensi, tegangan AC , daya, dan suhu) secara lengkap dan akurat.
