Dalam konsep pendidikan Ibnu khaldun berpendapat bahwa tidak cukup seorang guru hanya membekali anak dengan ilmu pengetahuan saja agar mereka menjadi orang yang berilmu pengetahuan yang menambah kemampuannya dalam belajar. Akan tetapi juga guru wajib memperbaiki metode dalam penyajian ilmu kepada amak didiknya dan hal itu tidak akan sempurna kecuali dengan dahulu mempelajari hidup kejiwaan anak dan mengetahui tingkat-tingkat kematangannya serta bakat-bakat ilmiyahnya, sehingga ia mampu menerapkan sesuai dengan tingkat pikiran meraka.
