Abstract
En un libro ya clasico, el politico estadounidense Sydney Tarrow puso de relieve los recursos internos movilizados por los y las activistas que se dedican a causas transnacionales, evocando formas de «cosmopolitismo arraigado». Analizando la evolucion reciente de la circulacion entre Francia y Quebec, este articulo muestra, de manera simetrica, como la comparacion internacional constituye una dimension cada vez mas frecuente, incluso obligada, de las practicas sociales y politicas ancladas a nivel local y/o nacional. Asi, y a pesar de las multiples diferencias que caracterizan a estas sociedades, que a menudo son comparadas, Francia y Quebec tienden a constituir un espejo en el que expatriados y expatriadas, investigadores e investigadoras, pero tambien y sobre todo funcionarios y funcionarias, activistas, representantes y periodistas tienden a compararse. Defendiendo una epistemologia reflexiva, este articulo invita por tanto a los comparatistas academicos a cuestionar sus propios metodos, teniendo en cuenta los usos ordinarios de la comparacion entre sus entrevistados (que se comparan a si mismos, tanto como son comparados), asi como los desafios internos de esta comparacion ahora generalizada.
