This chapter presents the second of three case studies in this book applying the lens of ecological law to three different legal approaches to mining in order to reflect on their implications for a shift to ecological law. In considering mineral extraction proposed in Ontario's Ring of Fire, this chapter searches for elements of ecological law in a legal framework that purportedly ensures mineral extraction is sustainable in one of the most ecologically intact regions of the world.
