Abstract
L’introduction de la TVA en Grande-Bretagne s’est produite au début des années 1970. L’idée en apparaît, en fait, à la fin des années 1950 et est longuement discutée au cours des années 1960. L’arrivée tardive d’un impôt sur le chiffre d’affaires en Grande-Bretagne doit cependant nous conduire à repartir du xixe siècle.
