Abstract
[Figure: see text] The Toronto School of Theology (TST) has in recent years given new attention to the place of the arts in the task of theological education. Through events, discussions, and curricular changes, it has indicated its desire to include the aesthetic as a valued resource for theological understanding. The first part of this article notes developments in the dialogues concerning art and theology that have taken place in the Anglo-American world over the past few decades. These developments have produced an avalanche of literature on this theme. Some examples from that literature are cited, as well as key figures that have energized the conversations. The second part offers the author’s perspective on some threads in the unfolding story of an arts presence at TST.
