Abstract
Par une heureuse disposition, la fréquence des mariages impliquant des individus dont le patronyme est le même nous donne une estimation de l’apparentement des conjoints. Le principe est fort simple. En général, un oncle et une nièce (ou bien une tante et son neveu) partagent la moitié du temps le même patronyme alors que leur coefficient de parenté est égal à un huitième. De même, les cousins sont isonymes une fois sur quatre (pour un coefficient de parenté de un seizième), les petits cousin...
