Abstract
Le théâtre brésilien contemporain traverse un important tournant performatif depuis les années 2000. Plus récemment, on observe que certaines œuvres inspirées par des textes théoriques cherchent à dénaturaliser des imaginaires sociaux hégémoniques, tout en produisant des mises en scène provocatrices, inspirées de discours autoréférents et autobiographiques. Le spectacle A Invenção do Nordeste, « L’Invention du Nord-Est », du groupe Carmin, problématise un agencement des représentations sur ce qui serait (ou ce que devrait être) le nordestino, terme désignant une personne originaire du Nord-Est du Brésil. De fortes doses d’autodérision sont employées en guise de recours dramaturgique, en vue de susciter une réflexion chez le spectateur, tout en l’amenant à identifier les figures liées à l’imagerie du Nord-Est. En problématisant une thématique apparemment régionale, ce spectacle propose un panorama historique des rapports économiques et culturels entre « centre » et « périphérie » dans la société brésilienne, en consonance avec l’ouvrage homonyme de Durval Muniz Albuquerque Júnior, A invenção do Nordeste e outras artes (1999) (« L’invention du Nord-Est et autres arts »).À partir de la remise en question des identités et des imageries liées au nordestino proposée par ce spectacje, le jeu théâtral démontre la façon dont les mécanismes culturels s’inscrivent sur les corps et les subjectivitées, tout en inventant et en créant des identitées et des stéréotypes autour de certains groupes d’individus. En outre, nous cherchons à appréhender comment le théâtre pourrait contribuer à la construction transdisciplinaires de la connaissance, lorsqu’il traduit et matérialise en actions et en situations scéniques des processus théoriques complexes.
