Abstract
Le roman de guerre français entre la Guerre de 14 et son déclin au début des années 80 est largement un roman de l’Histoire immédiate. L’article propose de voir à la fois dans cette paradoxale extension du passé et dans la forte autonomie du roman de guerre les raisons du soi-disant déclin du roman historique dans la première moitié du XXe siècle.
