Abstract
En el tránsito de los años cincuenta a los sesenta, y dentro del cambiante contexto del régimen franquista de la autarquía al consumo de masas, se dieron importantes transformaciones en el terreno de las relaciones de género que afectaron, también, a la institución matrimonial. El análisis de la película ‘Los derechos de la mujer’ (Sáenz de Heredia, 1963), centrada en las agitadas relaciones matrimoniales de María José y Juan, me servirá como eje argumental para el estudio de las tensiones y las resistencias que en aquellos años se produjeron en las formas de comprender la masculinidad y la feminidad y la relación conyugal entre ambas. Además, plantearé la posibilidad de que el relato de la ‘guerra de sexos’ pudo ser utilizado para responder a un estado de malestar incipiente al que más tarde se le daría un carácter colectivo y político en clave feminista.
