Abstract
Dans le cadre du REF (Réseau Education et Formation) réuni à Montpellier en 2005, des chercheurs francophones belges, canadiens, français et suisses font le point sur la question du français langue seconde et de son enseignement. Ils analysent le concept discuté mais indispensable pour la compréhension de nombreuses situations sociolinguistiques et éducatives en Afrique, au Canada, en Europe et dans de multiples autres lieux. Ils examinent également les retombées au plan universitaire, en matière d'orientations de recherche ou de programmes de formation, et son utilité opérationnelle sur le terrain éducatif.
