Abstract
Introdução: A gordura localizada consiste no acúmulo irregular de tecido adiposo em determinadas regiões do corpo e, por afetar diretamente na autoestima do indivíduo, é grande a procura por tratamentos estéticos no intuito de amenizar tal disfunção. A carboxiterapia é uma técnica que utiliza da infusão de gás carbônico medicinal na pele e tecido subcutâneo para promover efeitos fisiológicos. Objetivo: Analisar a eficácia da Carboxiterapia no tratamento da gordura localizada. Metodologia: Revisão integrativa realizada a partir da busca nas bases de dados LILACS, SCIELO e BIREME, através dos descritores Gordura localizada, Carboxiterapia, Efeito Bohr, Lipodistrofia localizada, Tela subcutânea. Foi realizada a análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Conclui-se que a carboxiterapia é um tratamento totalmente seguro, pois na proporção em que o CO2 se infiltra, é inofensivo para o organismo, e quando associado a outros trazendo redução da gordura localizada.
