Levantes – este foi o título de grande ressonância escolhido por Georges Didi-Huberman para a sua exposição inaugurada em 2016 na Galeria Nacional do Jeu de Paume, em Paris. Desde então, a exposição viajou para vários lugares, primeiramente na Europa e, depois, nas Américas, de Buenos Aires, São Paulo à Cidade do México, e também para Montreal. Por ocasião da abertura da exposição no Museu Universitário de Arte Contemporânea (MUAC) da Cidade do México, em fevereiro de 2018, foi organizada uma conferência em torno do tema dos levantes. O presente texto, aqui apresentado, é desdobramento da palestra proferida por Emmanuel Alloa na referida ocasião. O objetivo central desse texto é pensar a relação entre as revoltas e as imagens e o que dela sobrevive.
