Abstract
Cette contribution interroge la notion de « fictions alimentaires » à partir d’un corpus romanesque contemporain composé d’œuvres de Marie NDiaye, Suzette Mayr et Hiromi Goto. L’imaginaire de l’universalisme républicain français y est interrogé comme une « fiction identitaire » intenable, qui s’appuie sur le modèle de l’assimilation culinaire, tout en traçant de manière métalittéraire les contours d’un certain canon. S’y oppose la farce parodique du multiculturalisme canadien, qui réifie en mets typiques une différence culturelle hyperbolique. Les fictions romanesques dessinent alors, entre ces deux modèles, de possibles réécritures de l’identité à partir de la nourriture, cuisinée et ingérée, dans une perspective non-essentialiste.
