Kegiatan penerapan ipteks ini bertujuan melakukan transfer teknologi berupa pelatihan pembuatan desalinator sederhana untuk pengolahan air payau bagi masyarakat Desa Kuala, yang sejak lama telah mengalami krisis air bersih, karena hanya memiliki sumber air baku yang tergolong air payau. Pelaksanaan kegiatan penerapan ipteks ini dilakukan secara sistematis, dalam beberapa tahapan, dimulai dengan sosialisasi dan pengurusan izin, pelaksanaan pelatihan, serta evaluasi keberhasilan kegiatan. Keseluruhan tahapan kegiatan Penerapan Ipteks telah selesai dilaksanakan. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa setelah pelatihan, secara umum para peserta pelatihan telah dapat menjelaskan konsep dasar pengolahan air payau dengan beberapa metode yang telah diperkenalkan. Pemahaman para peserta terhadap materi pelatihan adalah 76,92-100%. Semua peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini bermanfaat bagi warga desa, sebagai salah satu solusi permasalahan air payau. Semua peserta juga menyarankan agar kegiatan ini dapat dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan untuk warga yang membutuhkan.
