Cet article cherche à explorer la validité de la notion de «post-romantisme» appliquée à des romans de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle tels que L’Éducation sentimentale de Flaubert et La Poupée (Lalka) de Prus. En utilisant le préfixe «post», nous ne cherchons pas à exclure de nouvelles catégories littéraires basées sur des caractéristiques communes sélectionnées, ni à remodeler l’histoire littéraire du XIXe siècle: nous voulons plutôt éclairer l’ensemble des processus qui se produisent dans les romans dont les objets esthétiques et politiques de base sont fondamentalement associés à une relation troublée et obsessionnelle avec le romantisme.
