El presente artículo expone una investigación desarrollada con niños de segundo y tercer grado de una institución pública en Bogotá, que les propone como protagonistas de la construcción de conocimiento, por medio del planteamiento de experiencias con insectos, conocerlos y aprender de ellos; todo, considerando tres destrezas particulares: la observación, la construcción de modelos y la comunicación; resignificando así sus concepciones frente a estos seres y enriqueciendo una actitud crítica, empática y responsable para con su contexto. La estrategia metodológica empleada fue la sistematización de experiencias, desde el enfoque cualitativo.
