O analfabetismo em Mato Grosso: um olhar sociolinguístico na perspectiva do letramento

Abstract
Este trabalho discute sobre o analfabetismo no Brasil e no Mato Grosso com o objetivo de analisar esses indicadores na perspectiva sociolinguística, refletindo sobre como os conceitos de alfabetização, analfabetismo e letramento estão inseridos neste contexto. A metodologia utilizada foi de pesquisa bibliográfica. Os dados indicam que nem o país e nem o estado atingiram a meta estabelecida pelo Plano Nacional de Educação para 2015, e que Mato Grosso apresenta o maior índice dentro de sua Grande Região. Foi possível perceber também a relação direta do analfabetismo com os fatores idade, cor ou raça e localização geográfica. Isso se explica pelo contexto sócio-histórico em que se deu a povoação do país e das regiões, de modo que os índices alcançados são reflexo das desigualdades, produto desse processo.Palavras-chave: analfabetismo; alfabetização; letramento; Mato Grosso; sociolinguística.
