Abstract

In this paper, a new mushroom-like Band-Gap (EBG) cell structure is proposed to reduce the mutual coupling between the radiating elements of a two-element antenna array operating at 28 GHz. The design and the optimization of the EBG structure were achieved by the CST Microwave Software Studio. The results show that the proposed EBG structure has exhibit more than 10 dB enhancement without any deterioration of the antenna radiation patterns.
